To convene OTs, builders and industry stakeholders to share best practice in home modifications and strengthen collaboration across the sector

What’s included

  • This intermediate, hands-on workshop designed to build essential technical skills for home modifications. You’ll practice real-world measurement techniques in an accessible bathroom at the venue, then bring those dimensions to life by recreating the space in Moddy.

  • Build your confidence in clinical reasoning through this beginner-friendly case study workshop. You’ll work through a real client referral and assessment brief, then analyse images of their home (including the bathroom and kitchen) to identify key barriers and safety risks. From there, you’ll develop practical recommendations, learning how to balance client goals with safety considerations and funding constraints. This session offers a supportive, step-by-step approach to making clear, informed decisions in home modifications.

  • Participants will explore how functional measurement drives safe and effective design, focusing on real-life movements like transitioning from sitting to standing and understanding the direction of force the body generates. Through guided activities, you’ll learn not just where to place grab rails but also develop your skills to prescribe the right height and type of rail.

  • The Home Mods Tradeshow is CPD eligible and participating Occupational Therapists will recieve a certificate after the tradeshow. Builders and students may also recieve a certificate of attendance.
